Project Details
- Obtained roadway surface data in accordance with Caltrans specifications for new JPCP pavement.
- Provided analysis, grind plan design, pay adjustment, grind plan implementation, and consultation.
- Became sole consultant/manager of roadway smoothness for the entire project (3 years – all phases) on behalf of Walsh Construction.
- Became backup grinding contractor on new JPCP pavement sections when the primary grinding contractor was unable to meet the scheduled needs of the general contractor, Walsh Construction.
- Eventually became the primary grinding contractor for the project due to our expertise, resources, and ability to meet Walsh Construction’s stringent schedule requirements.
- Awarded and successfully completed a change order/add-on to grind existing concrete work on NB Interstate 5 totaling approximately 106,000 square yards within 25 allowable working days.
- Obtained additional work from an asphalt paving subcontractor to provide inertial profiling data collection, analysis, and corrective grinding for on/off ramps on this project.
- Secured $196,725 of smoothness bonus money for the general contractor, Walsh Construction.
