Project begins at Dixon Landing Road, Milpitas, CA

  • Performed inertial profiler data collection of roadway surfaces at multiple intervals including preconstruction (EXIST), post pave (PAVE) of Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt Gap Grade, post correction (FINAL), and post pave (PAVE-O) of Rubberized Open Grade.
  • Designed and implemented comprehensive grind plans for Wirtgen Micro-Mill corrections to accurately calculate production and provide the contractor with a clear estimate of working days required to complete the work.
  • Provided onsite supervision including layout, quality control, and directing grinding activities. Coordinated directly with traffic control subcontractors to ensure continuous production without interruptions.
  • Delivered full smoothness project management by coordinating data acquisition, reviewing specifications, and assisting the contractor with risk management from start to finish.
  • Managed project adjustments related to construction phase changes, project limit updates, and Caltrans design change orders to ensure the contractor remained compliant with applicable specifications.

  • Project consisted of 4 through lanes for each of southbound and northbound lanes + additional #5 and #6 auxiliary lanes to accommodate on / off ramps. Over 100 lanes miles of roadway was paved, scanned with the inertial profiler, grind plans developed, and implemented to address corrective action where applicable.
