Project Details
- Paving contractor hired by the city had below-spec compaction issues and was given the option to either remove and replace the pavement or provide a 4-year warranty.
- SAM Rhodes was hired by Cecil and Cecil on behalf of the City of Patterson to objectively obtain pavement data and analyze year-to-year changes related to rideability and durability.
- Initial data collection was performed on 12/7/2021, with subsequent data collections on 12/7/2022 and year three on 12/8/2023.
- The year four test was cancelled due to budget limitations and because the year three results showed only minimal changes, which City of Patterson engineers and SAM Rhodes determined were within normal degradation for a heavily traveled city roadway.
